Changeable weather conditions – from sunny morning to afternoon downpoor – accompanied participants of 5th Round of Polish Hill-Climb Championship, being simultaneously a training for drivers classified in & FIA EHC Round – FIA European Hill-Climb Challenge.

Two trainings at sunny weather were held without obstacles except for few failures. The best result belonged to Simone Faggioli (IT), overtaking Christian Merli (IT) and Milos Benes (CZ).

After the start of races of 5th GSMP Round, it started to rain. Competitors who were before start changed tyres into rainy ones. However, Wojciech Szulc (PL, Mitsubishi Lancer) had a collision on slippery road, hitting into barrier with his car on one of sharp turns. After removing the car from the round, the heat was reopened. Unfortunately, a moment later, the race had to be paused again because of the collision of Przemysław Pieniążek’s Clio (PL). Removing of oil slick that spilled out of the damaged engine and contaminated a big section of the route lasted so long that, upon request of Director of the Race, Stewards decided to end the round after one race heat.

In general classification of 5th GSMP Round, the first place place was taken by Dubai from Berg Monster Team, overtaking Waldemar Kluza (Skoda Fabia S 2000) by 0,956 s and Grzegorz Kozioł (Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII, + 2,646 s). Mariusz Stec (Ford Fiesta Proto), who came back to races in this season, managed very well on slippery road and he took fourth place. Andrzej Szepieniec was the fifth.

Rafał Serafinowicz was the best in Group N. In the group of racing cars, Paweł Rzadkoś stood on the highest place of podium. He did not have any opponents.

Wiesław Janczyk, deputy finance minister, handed the fastest drivers cups and he thanked Limanowa authorities and organizers. He also declared the support in improving road infrastructure on the race route. Race Radio debuted this year. It is the first race radio in Poland that is reporting the race for two days on waves 100,3 FM. Thanks to it, spectators can follow the event via website www.wysciggorski.pl, where image from cameras located along the route and the resuts are available. On Limanowa market, there is a telebim transmitting the race.

Journalists of TVP 3 Kraków prepared one-hour local and nationwide report. Additionally, RMF FM and Limanowa TV 28, reported the event au courant.
