In hill climb racing, Friday marks a busy and crucial day of final preparations ahead of the training and race runs scheduled for Saturday. All competitors must complete the necessary administrative formalities during the Administrative Check, and their vehicles undergo thorough scrutiny during the Technical Scrutineering. The day concludes with driver briefings focused primarily on safety issues, as well as meetings of the event’s highest authority – the Panel of Sports Commissioners. Simultaneously, the course undergoes final preparations, including official inspections by FIA and Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (PZM) officials and observers.
The 16th Limanowa Hill Climb – Przełęcz pod Ostrą is the 7th Round of the FIA European Hill Climb Championship (FIA EHC) and the 7th and 8th Rounds of the Polish Hill Climb Championship (GSMP). On Saturday, 115 drivers from Poland and across Europe will line up at the start.
For drivers competing in the GSMP, Saturday marks the 7th round of the championship, featuring two practice runs and two race runs. For FIA EHC drivers, all runs on Saturday are considered practice sessions. The first driver will take off from the start line in Stara Wieś at 8:00 AM. The first GSMP race run is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.
Fans have already started setting up tents and campers along the course, with several thousand spectators expected over the weekend. Both competitors and fans consistently praise the hospitality of the Limanowa region’s residents and the unique atmosphere of the event.
